Mr. Crowell joined JPMorgan Chase & Company in January 2013 as an Executive Director within Global Security & Investigations. He has the responsibility of overseeing investigations related to internal and external financial crimes, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory compliance. Other responsibilities include collaboration on risk and change management, process improvement, and building upon seamless relationships with federal, state, and local enforcement agencies.
Prior to this role, he completed over 25 years of distinguished service with the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration as a Special Agent. Based upon his leadership accomplishments, he was appointed Special Agent in Charge of the New Jersey Division and then Special Agent in Charge of the New York Division, DEA's largest division.
As Special Agent in Charge, Mr. Crowell provided leadership and direction to 1,000 personnel on domestic and international enforcement operations, intelligence collection, anti-money laundering initiatives, training, pharmaceutical regulation and compliance, HR, facilities management, finance, and purchasing.p>Across Mr. Crowell's years of highly decorated public service he was designated by NYC Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell to serve on task force initiatives addressing the drug threat to the public. While Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the Special Operations Division, he received the Department of Justice Criminal Division Award for developing law enforcement and intelligence-gathering strategies used as a model for current counter-terrorism initiatives. His service to the community was twice recognized by the House of Representatives. Mr. Crowell has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Brian and his wife Kathleen have one son, Seamus.å
