Vice President of Global Security, Estee Lauder Companies

Mr. Rice leads a world wide team of security executives responsible for protecting the companies’ employees and products. Prior to this assignment, he was a Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration. During his twenty-six year career with DEA, Mr. Rice developed an extensive range of experiences in national program areas, policy and management. In 1998, Mr. Rice was selected by the President of the United States to be awarded the rank of Meritorious Executive in the Senior Executive Service of the DEA. As a native of New York City, Mr. Rice earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from St. John’s University, Queens, New York. Shortly after graduation, Mr. Rice began his career with the DEA in 1974 and served in various investigative assignments in the state of New York and in Kingston, Jamaica. In 1984, Mr. Rice was promoted to the position of Supervisory Special Agent in Miami, Florida, where he coordinated numerous international drug investigations against violent drug cartels.

In 1997, Mr. Rice was promoted to the position of Special Agent in Charge of the DEA office in New York. Under Mr. Rice’s leadership and direction, the New York office developed many community projects including the Adopt-a-School and Student Exchange Programs. Rice was appointed as a permanent member of DEA’s Career Board, an elite group of senior executives who are responsible for all supervisory selections in the agency.

As a testament to his commitment to the children of New York City, he was elected Chairman Emeritus for the Law Enforcement Explorer’s. He is also a trustee of Hale House New York City.

Mr. Rice is married to Karen and is the father of four.
